Hello,
I´m repairing my gt´69. The motor was opened 3 times at least. About the timing tensioners i´ll mount the new rubber kit although the original are those made of metal-plastic, i think here there are no problem. But about the head screws, perhaps mine are used for tree times, i don´t want to use them again. I can´t find anywere a kit with 10.9 quality, only 8.8 or 12.9.
5 u - M12x1.50 60mm, 10.9
5 u - M12x1.50 90mm, 10.9
I thing that ZXN or Allen is no important.
I would need tight them until 100Nm, the 8.8 according usually table allows as much at normal uses 92Nm as much,...in a motor head...¿?.
The 12.9 quality could be too much rigid to accompany the head at it´s dilatation?
What can i do, what are my mistakes?
Thanks.
Regards.
Jaime

Hola Jaime,
They also have the timing tensioners

For the screws - most hexagon screws are extension screws ment for one time assembly only.
Your old ones are usaly "vielzahn" screws and can be used more than once.

Hallo GT Community,
Thank you, Tom. I´ll keep this adress!, i did know it.
Stephan: it is a great news for me. My old screws really looks like pretty. A screw when is overthightened advice, i belive that if i use a tube long enought to make me feel its behaviour. But around the head cam is a lot ghosts and myths, and don´t want to play with my "babe". And my arm is not a precission machine The last time that i tight those screws i felt them truly solid.
I´ll fit them again.(http://www.forumcoder.de/images/smilies/cwm32.gif) (http://www.forumcoder.de/images/smilies/cwm32.gif)
Thanks a lot
